Schedule of Competition

The 2009 Business Strategy Challenge will take place February 25-27, 2010.

Thursday, February 25

Welcome Luncheon:

All teams are expected to arrive at Georgetown University by 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 25th to check-in and attend the opening presentation. There will be a BSC representative on-site at the Holiday Inn at Georgetown to facilitate travel between the hotel and the University. At the hotel, BSC guests will receive passes for the Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) that will allow them to ride the Wisconsin Avenue GUTS to campus. Once on campus, there will be BSC representatives waiting at the bus stop to escort teams to the Fisher Colloquium, where the Welcome Luncheon will take place. After lunch and the opening presentation, teams will draw a number from 1 to 15 for their presentation order.

DC Tour (Based on Space Availability)

Participants will be taking a tour of DC with a Georgetown Alumnus.

Dinner & Live Case Presentation

This event will be held on-site at the Holiday Inn. The live case presentation will begin after dinner. A representative from the non-profit organization will then present the case and answer a few questions. After the short question and answer period ends, the written case will be distributed and teams can begin working on their presentations. Dinner will promptly be served at 6:30pm.

Friday, February 26

Teams should be working on their presentations at this time. They may work in the various breakout rooms throughout the Rafik B. Hariri building, which have been specifically reserved for them from 9:00AM-6:00PM. However, it must be noted that at 10:00PM the doors of the building will be locked.

Saturday, February 27

Presentation Deadline

Presentations are promptly due at 7:30 AM to presentations@hilltopconsultants.org. Any presentations received after the deadline will not be accepted and the team will be disqualified.

Transportation

Teams presenting first and second (teams: 1, 2, 6, 7, 11, 12) will be required to meet in the lobby of the Holiday Inn at 7:50AM. Teams presenting third, fourth, and fifth (teams: 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15) will be required to meet no later than 8:20AM, although teams may choose to leave at 7:50AM.

Breakfast

Buses will arrive at the hotel at 8:00 AM. The first round of presenting teams, teams 1, 6, and 11 will be the first to depart from the hotel, followed by the second round of presenters. Nevertheless, all teams should be in the lobby ready to depart at 8:00 AM. BSC representatives will be on hand to coordinate the departure and to take attendance. Once teams arrive on campus, they will be ushered to the Hariri building for breakfast.

Preliminary Round

Preliminiary rounds will promptly begin at 9:00AM.

Lunch

Once all teams present, participants will be escorted to the Shea Undergraduate Commons for lunch at 12:45PM. At this time, we ask that all advisors arrive at the Undergraduate Commons to join their teams for lunch. Before lunch draws to a close, the finalists will be announced.

Final Round

The final round will begin in the Lohrfink Auditorium at 3:00 PM. All participants not in the final round, as well as advisors, will be directed to the Lohrfink Auditorium to observe the final round of presentations.

Awards Banquet

The Awards Banquet will take place in the Fisher Colloquium. All teams and their advisors are required to attend this final event. During the closing event, the Georgetown Saxatones will start off the event with an acapella performance. Once dinner concludes, our keynote speaker will give the keynote address, which will be followed by the awards presentation.
